The beginning of November marked a busy and exciting time for Fairgate in Buenos Aires, with the team taking part in two major gatherings that brought together the brightest minds in the Bitcoin and Web3 ecosystems. Between insightful discussions at LABITCONF 2025 and a full house at Fairgate’s own side event, the company’s presence made a strong impression on the global community of developers, researchers, and innovators exploring the future of programmable Bitcoin.

As part of this year’s LABITCONF in Buenos Aires, Fairgate joined the global Bitcoin community for an inspiring few days of talks, discussions, and connections. On Saturday, November 8th, Sergio Lerner, Fairgate’s CTO, took the Tech Stage to present “BitVM and BitVMX: Computing on Bitcoin Made Easy.”

In his session, Sergio introduced BitVMX, Fairgate’s modular platform for scalable computation on Bitcoin, highlighting how it integrates advanced primitives such as garbled circuits, FLEX, BATTLE, and TOOP to enable secure, trust-minimized computing. By combining these building blocks, BitVMX opens the door to complex applications that preserve Bitcoin’s security guarantees while expanding its real-world utility.

Beyond the stage, the Fairgate team spent the conference connecting with partners, collaborators, and developers from across the ecosystem, exploring new ways to bring programmable, real-world use cases to Bitcoin through BitVMX.

Unleashing Bitcoin's Potential for Real-World Applications with BitVMX

Building on the excitement of LABITCONF, Fairgate hosted its own side event on November 9th.

The gathering brought together researchers, builders, and protocol designers to dive deep into Fairgate’s evolving ecosystem of Bitcoin-native technologies.

The afternoon opened with Sergio Lerner’s presentation of “BitVMX, Garbled Circuits and Fairgate’s Evolving Ecosystem of Protocols,” outlining how BitVMX serves as the foundation for scalable offchain computation. Ariel Futoransky (a.k.a. Futo), Fairgate’s CSO, followed with “Offchain Computing with Garbled Circuits,” illustrating how cryptographic advances are turning theoretical constructs into practical building blocks for decentralized computation.

The second half of the event explored Fairgate’s latest protocol innovations: FLEX, a framework designed to address capital efficiency in advanced Bitcoin protocols, and BATTLE, a novel mechanism to scale dispute resolution on Bitcoin to thousands of participants.

The talks sparked lively discussions and Q&A sessions, with attendees engaging directly with Fairgate’s researchers about implementation details and future applications.

By the end of the evening, the sense of excitement was palpable, proof that BitVMX and its ecosystem are inspiring a new wave of builders to unlock Bitcoin’s full potential. These talks revealed how Fairgate’s research team is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on Bitcoin, turning theoretical constructs into practical frameworks that developers can use today. The energy and curiosity in the room set the tone for what’s next, with everyone looking ahead to Fairgate’s upcoming side event on Sunday, November 16th: The Future of Bitcoin.
